In Place of Honour

  Years ago I had an idea to write a fantasy sci-fi sort of episodic tale called "In Place of Honour". It was gonna be about the appearance of a knight claiming to be from an ancient sect of protectors called The Honour, who had been extinct for a hundred years, killed off in the last great war. This knight appears in response to a king's plea for someone to rescue his child from a warlord, and this appearance sends shockwaves through the land for two reasons. One is the appearance of someone girded in armor resembling the old knight and claiming to have been trained in their ways. The other is the reminder of the old, controversial rule that anyone rescued by The Honour must serve them for the period of one year. I got hung up after 5 or 6 episodes about 10 years ago, got to place in the tale I where I was stuck and couldn't see what was next, so I put it down.
